The cost of a complete stove installation comes down to three parts: the stove, the chimney and the labour. Here is what affects the price – and how the Swedish ROT tax deduction lowers it.
The stove
The price of the stove itself varies with size, material and manufacturer. In our range of wood stoves, most models fall between roughly 17,000 and 70,000 SEK. A mid-range stove from an established manufacturer often costs 25,000–40,000 SEK.
The chimney
If there is an existing masonry chimney in good condition, it can often be used after an inspection, which keeps costs down considerably. If there is no chimney, a steel chimney is installed – an added cost that depends on the construction of the house and the length of the chimney. See our range of chimneys.
The labour – and the ROT deduction
Installation work varies with the conditions: hearth plate, drilling, connection and any chimney assembly. The good news is that the labour cost qualifies for the ROT deduction – you can deduct 30 percent of the labour cost, up to 50,000 SEK per person per year. The deduction is applied directly on the invoice.
What does the whole thing cost?
A simpler installation against an existing chimney may not cost much more than the stove itself plus a modest labour cost, while a stove with a new steel chimney often lands in the 50,000–100,000 SEK range before the ROT deduction. Every house is different – which is why we always give you a clear price after a home visit.
